Welcome to beautiful Los Cabos, Mexico, where sweeping desert landscapes meet warm, azure seas.  Located on the southern tip of the Baja peninsula and nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez, this area is blessed with a vibrant ecosystem, 320 days of sun and some of the finest food in Mexico.  We invite you to join Movement Travel and health, wellness and fitness expert, Julian Ho, for a holistic wellness getaway at the stunning, 5-star Viceroy Los Cabos.  This 6-day, 5-night journey has been carefully curated to provide an ideal balance between challenging your mental and physical limits while providing ample time to unplug, release and restore.

Your Wellness Journey Begins Here

 

Your retreat will include daily wellness activities hand-crafted by Julian Ho and our select local wellness partners.  You will also have plenty of free time to relax at the pool, beach or spa.  Each night we will introduce you to a different restaurant for a delicious and authentic dining experience.  For those interested in further customizing their wellness journey, Movement Travel can also help you arrange additional tours and activities including, but not limited to:  kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling, surfing, golfing and cooking classes.  Like all Movement Travel retreats, everything is optional and you can choose to do as much or as little as you want.    

Julian Ho is a coach, curator, and consultant in health, wellness, and fitness. He believes in achieving a harmony of the body, mind, and spirit, relative to life’s goals and priorities. As a multi-certified/sponsored coach, Ironman, and ultramarathon champion, he is known for his grit, intensity, and diversity. He balances this with an ever-evolving restorative practice, a mindfulness-based nutrition philosophy, daily reading and writing, and plenty of playtime. Julian’s education started with an HBA in Kinesiology from Western, certifications in Personal Training and Group Fitness Instruction. He has evolved with education from the CHEK International Institute in Holistic Lifestyle Coaching and Exercise Coaching. Julian continues to lead the industry with his affiliation with the Health Programming and High-Performance Coaching systems from IOM (the Institute of Motion in California). Julian sets himself apart with his continuing educational efforts, most recently a Yoga Detour (200-HR) teacher training certification. Finally, Julian is the founder and director of 2.0 Toronto, an event platform for personal growth and professional development; a place to create an ecosystemic network for next level humans alike.

  1. Day 1 Saturday

    Guest Check-in anytime after 1:00 pm

    5:00 – 6:00 pm:  Beach Yoga and Meditation – join us on the beach for a gentle yoga and meditation session after a long day of travel.  During this hour, you will ground yourself, be present and set your intentions for your 5-night wellness journey.

    7:30 – 9:30 pm:  Group welcome dinner at the hotel

     

  2. Day 2 Sunday

    8:00 am – 9:30 am:  Breakfast at the hotel

    9:45 am- 10:45 am:  Athleticon – unleash your inner athlete. This bodyweight-based interval training class will focus on dynamic movements in all planes of motion. Drills will challenge speed, agility, and quickness, along with a balance of coordination, stability, and endurance. Participants will leave feeling challenged to the max, but more mind and body connected.

    11:00 am – 5:00 pm:  Free Time

    5:00 pm – 6:00 pm:  Beach RestorativeRelax, regenerate, and restore. This zero impact class will dive into the restorative benefits of deep stretch, deep tissue massage, and deep breathing. Enjoy assisted stretching, guided self-massage, and breathwork. 

    7:30 pm – 9:30 pm:  Group Dinner

     

  3. Day 3 Monday

    8:00 am – 9:30 am:  Breakfast at the hotel

    9:45 am- 10:45 am:  Movement Lab – Explore functional movement patterns that helped humans survive and thrive into the 21st century. Crawling, squatting, locomoting, warding, pivoting, reacting, loading/unloading, shifting, coiling, carrying, ground to standing, are all utility-based capabilities unique to the human body that we will discover. Expect a fun and interactive workshop approach to this experience. 

    11:00 am – 5:00 pm:  Free Time

    5:00 pm – 6:30 pm:  Breathwave – conscious, connected breathing that increases the flow of oxygen and life force throughout the mind and body.  It will slow your thoughts, calm your nervous system which will enhance your mental and emotional clarity and overall well-being.

    7:30 pm – 9:30 pm:  Group Dinner

     

  4. Day 4 Tuesday

    8:30 am – 9:45 am:  Yoga at Flora Farms  – surround yourself in nature and enjoy a gentle yoga practice in the mango barn.  Breathe in fresh morning air as you flow and awaken your soul.

    10:00 am- 12:30 pm: Brunch at Flora Farms plus farm tour

    12:30 pm – 5:00 pm:  Free Time

    5:00 pm – 6:00 pm:  SuperCircuit – a musical chairs approach to fitness. Under guidance and thorough instruction of the coach, participants will get to familiarize themselves with any and every piece of equipment available in the gym. SuperCircuit will teach variability as a means to foster a fascination in fitness creativity. Variety is the spice of life.

    7:30 pm – 9:30 pm:  Group Dinner

  5. Day 5 Wednesday

    8:00 am – 9:30 am:  Breakfast at the hotel

    9:45 am- 11:15 am:  Trifecta – A triathlon of fitness!  Trifecta is a 3-in-1 class where you’ll get your bang for your buck simply due to the 90 minute endurance factor. The 3 sports will be a random assortment of the following in any order: strength, conditioning, core, cycling, swimming, running, mobility. Be ready to push your limits in all of the above. 

    11:15 am – 5:00 pm:  Free Time

  6. Day 6 Thursday

    8:00 am – 9:00 am:  Beach Yoga and Meditation – bring a close to your wellness journey the same way you started off.  Take this time to turn inward and reflect upon your time in Los Cabos.

Movement Travel has hand-picked the spectacular, Viceroy Los Cabos, with its sweeping views of the sea and magnificent coastline, for our 5-night wellness retreat in Los Cabos, Mexico.  Sun-drenched and architecturally stunning, the hotel comes with several intimate pool areas, a white sand beach, state of the art fitness facility, library bar, spa, media room, delicious restaurants and shaded lounge areas.  The rooms are modern and airy and come with a large balcony where you can sit back and relax and watch the waves rolling in.

There are 2 room categories to choose from:

Ocean View – Higher floors offering unobstructed views of the sea
Partial Ocean View – Lower floors with partial views of the sea

  1. Los Cabos Add-On Activities

    Private Massage and Sound Healing
    A registered massage therapist and healer will use traditional massage techniques along with the healing benefits of sound and vibrations from crystal singing bowls to release blockages and increase energy flow within your body.  The 1.5 hour treatment will be performed in the privacy of your hotel room.  

    Spa
    Pamper yourself in the full service spa which includes vitality pools and thermal chambers set within an interior grotto environment. Ice fountains and experience showers are available to round out the experience.  Our Movement Travel guests will receive 15% off any spa treatments.  

    Surfing
    From the Pacific Ocean to the Sea of Cortez, Los Cabos and the surrounding area is a surfers paradise. The sandy bottoms and gentle rolling waves are perfect for beginners, with faster and more powerful breaks available for advanced surfers. We can help you arrange equipment rentals and lessons.

    Cooking Class
    Learn how to cook tradition Mexican dishes in a beautiful outdoor setting, then sit down and enjoying your delicious creations afterwards.  This unforgettable experience will teach you how to make home-made tortillas, use a traditional molcajete to mix fresh guacamole and create a mouth-watering pico de gallo while sipping a refreshing margarita. 

    Snorkeling & Scuba Diving
    Spend a day in the tranquil East Cape visiting Cabo Plumo National Marine Park, a UNESCO Heritage Site and home to oldest of three living coral reefs remaining on the west coast of North America. Estimated to be over 20,000 years old, the reef is teaming with colourful marine life. It is an incredible experience to watch schools of thousands of tropical fish swim beneath you in their natural habitat.

    Golfing
    Of the top 15 golf courses in Mexico, 7 of them are in the golfer’s paradise of Los Cabos. The remarkable terrain is comparable to that found on the courses of Arizona or the Californian desert, and comes with sweeping views of the sparkling Sea of Cortez.
